Cuddly Animals

Alumni and updates on current & past Cuddly cuties

Adoptions were not in our original plan and we can’t begin to explain why we didn’t realize immediately that it would become a necessary part of our efforts! For the moment, we are only working with cats who have been found outdoors and are adoptable. We will expand this in the future, as we are able to find foster volunteers and the funding to meet those expenses.

For more information on outdoor cats in your neighborhood, feel free to check out our list of Community Cats of… Facebook groups!

Suki was found and taken in by an experienced pet owner, who knew that this girl needed help. First thought to be pregnant, 7 month old (now 8 month old, DOB @ May.02.2023) Suki turned out to have an abscess on her belly, causing her teats to swell and harden. Treated for that injury, she began her recovery and THEN had to go back to the vet for her spay surgery. She’s been through a lot! but she’s remained friendly and playful throughout her ordeals. She has one abscess check up remaining and is accepting adoption applications now. Her finder (who is also her current foster) and the vet will alert us the minute that she is fully recovered. Adoption applications can be filled out on the Adopt/Foster page; just click a pic and then the Apply for Adoption link.

On Thanksgiving eve, pretty much every shelter and rescue the finder of a litter of kittens could think of wasn’t answering their phone or responding on Facebook or to emails. But we did! Living outdoors, just as temps were starting to drop into the 30s, the original four kittens were being given away for free (DON’T DO THAT!) online. Our finder leapt into action, arriving too late to prevent the entire quartet from being de-littered. They did, however, scoop up the trio, with no thought beyond saving them.

Once we made contact with each other, their finder brought the threesome of adorable 4 week old kittens to us. And we KNOW they came quite a bit out of their way to do that. The kittens have had vet care during their time with their current foster and are awaiting their surgeries, when they will become available for adoption. Named, by a donor, for the romantic trio that Swifties will recognize, these kits went against expectations… and August is a boy! They are comfortable with other cats and with cat-friendly dogs. We are fundraising for their expenses and appreciate all donations. Adoption applications can be filled out on the Adopt/Foster page; just click a pic and then the Apply for Adoption link.

Our first official Cuddly kitty, Mr Kittens was living outdoors when he chose his people. They aren’t on Facebook but a friend reached out for help for Mr Kittens via a Facebook post and we reached back. While they adored him and wanted to keep him, their other pets objected. Being honorable pet owners, they sadly accepted the ruling and adoption was pursued. We took every step possible to help this gorgeous big-cheek ginger boy find his place. In the end, however, his finders were the angels who found him a forever home and his very own lap.
