An adorable duo who are seeking a new start

Ollie (tabby with white DOB 07.22.2020) and Freddie (black and white, DOB 03.22.2025) were rescued as part of a FIFTY cat project at a church in Cicero. Their lives have been complicated for as long as we’ve known them.
We need your help to UNcomplicate things for this pair of loving feline friends.
We are seeking a foster home, or an adopter, who will honor their bond and keep them together.
Unlikely as their match seems, they are perfect for each other. Ollie is a very social boy. He loves everyone on sight and would be lonely as an only cat. He is also FIV positive. Freddie has loved Oliver from the moment they met, and Ollie has been there for him. Through all the mayhem of dozens of cats, the disruption of mass trapping and the uncertainty of being separated from their large family, Ollie has never left Freddie’s side.
An FIV+ cat can sometimes be a little harder to find the right adopter for and bonded cats can be a challenge, too. Together, initially, the idea of finding THE right family felt daunting, truly. But seeing their affection for each other and watching the bond they share carry them from living outdoors in Cicero, through their neuter surgeries and crated recovery time and now in their loving foster home… it’s hard to imagine a life for them apart.
From their foster family: “Ollie is an absolutely charming mature brown tabby, estimated 5+ years. FIV+ but healthy. He was taken in as an outside cat by a church, with no idea where it was he originally came from. But he is so, so sociable and friendly that we assume he was abandoned as an adult. His mellowness is legendary. His belly is absolutely not a trap! He loves being petted there as well as basically everywhere else. He is absolutely a snuggler and will gladly curl up with humans whenever given the opportunity. His best friend is Freddie, who was also taken in by the church as a kitten, and who immediately gravitated to Ollie as a big brother.”

“Freddie is a younger black-and-white spotted boy, less than a year old. He was taken in as a kitten by a church, and immediately bonded with the elder cat Ollie who was already in residence, as a little shadow. He still has a lot of kitten energy, and will run around and play with toys with all that kitten energy. He loves sitting in his cat tree and surveying the outside world, but if he sees his buddy Ollie snuggle up to a human, he will come and snuggle up too, in order to get his share. Unlike Ollie (who loves everybody immediately), Freddie needs to build a little bit of trust first, but he’s getting braver as he grows into himself more.”
This purrfectly precious pair are doing great in their foster home, but they need a HOME. A single home, of their very own. Full run of the house, stairs to run up and down, windows from which to bird watch, people of their own to love. They absolutely must stay together! So we are asking you, denizens of the kitty loving universe, to share them far and wide. We know the right home is out there and that we just haven’t found it, yet!
Their adopter is an attentive pet owner, who will provide a reasonably stress-free environment, a nutritional diet and a strong commitment to keeping them indoors. Someone who will play with Freddie when he needs to burn his energy, is happy to sit under a small purring blanket of kitties, and will spare the time to rub Ollie’s belly when requested. You can apply to adopt them by filling out this application.
If you would like to offer them some love but cannot adopt them, they will gladly peruse your foster application, as well. In addition, if you’d LOVE to adopt them but want to know if they’ll fit into your family, we do offer the option to foster-to-adopt. Click to fill out a foster application.
